A Guiding Principle that is Obvious but Too Often Ignored
Krugman observes a great truism here and links to a fuller discussion that is worth following as well. Credibility really matters. The principle: Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance. Think Iraq, Sarah Palin, the current bail-out proposal, and, as a matter of fact, just about anything involving Karl Rove or his disciples.
